Environmentally Advanced Buildings

The Technology and Innovation Center buildings embody Daikin technology and facilitate collaborative innovation.

Advanced environmental technologies, primarily in the field of air conditioning, are used in the buildings and equipment and serve as a model for solutions that achieve both unrivaled energy efficiency and comfortable indoor environments.

To achieve ZEB that embodies superb energy conservation

  • On completion, the energy consumption of the buildings is 70% less than that of ordinary buildings.

  • An integrated machinery-chemistry-electricity solution model will be established to achieve ZEB by 2020.

* ZEB is an abbreviation of a net Zero Energy Building.

Demonstrate a comfortable space that improves productivity

  • A continuously comfortable space will be demonstrated (e.g., increase in air-conditioning efficiency).

  • The “indoor environment index” (with personal differences and people distribution, etc., taken into consideration) will be verified.

  • Comfort solutions will be developed based on space control to improve productivity.

The Technology and Innovation Center aims to meet and surpass the highest global standards for the environment and has obtained building environment assessment certifications including LEED* (highest certification: Platinum) and CASBEE* (highest certification: S class)

* LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is an environmental assessment system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (a nonprofit organization). LEED has been emerging as a global standard. There are four certification levels (Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) based on the total points earned for seven assessment items (site, water, energy, material, air quality, new technology, and local characteristics).

* CASBEE (Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency) is the most highly-recognized system in Japan for comprehensive assessment of environmental performance of buildings. This certification system evaluates buildings whose environmental quality and performance (e.g. interior comfort, consideration to landscape) are high with less environmental impact (load) achieved by energy/resource conservation and recycling.
(Applications have been made to LEED and CASBEE as of November 2015.)
